<summary>Research data is accumulating at an unprecedented rate, presenting significant challenges for achieving fully reproducible science. As a result, implementing high-quality management of scientific data has become a global priority. One key aspect of this effort is the use of computational workflows, which describe the complex, multi-step methods used for data analysis. In Galaxy, workflows are a powerful feature that allows researchers to link multiple steps of complex analyses seamlessly. To maximize their impact, these workflows should adhere to best practices that make them FAIR: Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable.

<summary>Quality scores take up the majority of space in our compressed sequence files, so removing them makes the files much smaller (~80% or more). In addition, many uses don’t require per-base quality scores to successfully complete their work (some pipelines even require fastq format but don’t actually use the quality scores), so these files represent a faster route to completing many analyses. The full quality scores are still available in the original SRA Runs for anyone that requires them, using the SRA Tools available in Galaxy.

<summary>Galaxy is well-known as a web-based data analysis platform which provides a graphical interface for executing common bioinformatics tools in a reproducible manner. However, Galaxy is not just a user-friendly interface for executing one tool at a time. It provides two very useful features which allow scaling data analyses up to a high-throughput level: dataset collections and workflows.
